MySQL Database Administrator (AWS RDS / Aurora)

About the role

We welcome DBAs with broader backgrounds (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MariaDB, or other RDBMS/NoSQL platforms) as long as MySQL and AWS RDS are core, demonstrable strengths — not just listed skills. This role suits candidates ranging from focused mid-level MySQL specialists to senior multi-database DBAs with cloud expertise.

What you'll do

• Install, configure, and maintain MySQL (5.x/8.x) databases across production, UAT, and development environments
• Manage and support AWS RDS and Aurora MySQL instances — provisioning, patching, upgrades, scaling, and migrations
• Implement and manage replication (GTID/asynchronous), Multi-AZ high availability, Read Replicas, and disaster recovery solutions
• Perform backup and recovery using mysqldump, Percona XtraBackup, RDS automated snapshots, and point-in-time recovery (PITR)
• Monitor database health using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or PMM; proactively resolve bottlenecks
