Senior Engineer - Water Resources

About the role

The role is primarily focused on hydrology and hydraulics, including flood estimation, catchment assessment, hydraulic model development, flood-risk evaluation and design support for mine water infrastructure. The successful candidate will be a hands-on modeller with demonstrated capability in TUFLOW.

What you'll do

• Design storm selection, loss modelling, rainfall-runoff modelling, flow estimation and hydrograph development
• Develop, run, calibrate, validate and review 1D/2D TUFLOW hydraulic models for riverine flooding, overland flow, mine drainage
• Prepare model inputs including digital terrain models, computational meshes, roughness layers, boundary conditions, inflow hydrographs
• Assess flood depth, velocity, hazard, extent, afflux, flow paths and infrastructure interaction under existing, proposed and climate-change conditions
• Perform model stability checks, mass-balance review, sensitivity testing, uncertainty assessment and
