About the role

The Senior Safety Officer in a refractory company is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs specific to the handling, processing, and storage of refractory materials. This role involves overseeing safety compliance, conducting risk assessments, and promoting safety awareness to prevent accidents and ensure regulatory adherence.

What you'll do

• Design and implement safety programs tailored to the refractory industry, addressing specific risks associated with high-temperature processes, dust exposure
• Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures that comply with industry standards and regulations
• Conduct thorough risk assessments for various processes, including kiln operations, material handling, and equipment use
• Identify potential hazards related to refractory materials and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risks
• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, industry standards, and environmental laws relevant to the refractory industry
