Software Engineer (Frontend Platform), Native Git

About the role

The Local Mode team is building Native Git Postman—the bet that an API platform should live where developers already are: in the repository, on the filesystem, right next to the code. Instead of building a separate integration for every Git host, we’ve built a Git integration directly around the filesystem.

What you'll do

• Own secure, performant, and scalable Git-native developer workflows across visual and command-line experiences
• Build product features using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, Electron, APIs, and databases
• Design reliable synchronization that handles conflicts, concurrency, retries, interrupted operations, and partial failures without compromising user data
• Solve cross-platform problems involving Git, filesystems, permissions, processes, workers, and file watching across macOS, Windows, Linux, and WSL
• Improve performance for large repositories, deep file trees, data-intensive operations, application startup, and command-line execution

What you need
