Staff Engineer

About the role

Vocera now a part of Stryker is seeking an experienced Staff Software Engineer with 6–8 years of software development experience to design and build scalable cloud-native applications and platform services. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Java/Kotlin or Node.js, with expertise in backend development, modern web technologies, and AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.

What you'll do

• Design and develop scalable applications, microservices, and cloud-native platform services
• Build backend services and APIs using Java/Kotlin or Node.js, with exposure to full-stack development
• Contribute to software architecture, system design, and technical decision-making
• Conduct code reviews and promote engineering standards and design best practices
• Improve application performance, reliability, and maintainability

What you need
