Financial Controller - Analyst

About the role

As an Analyst within the Global Technology Controllers in Corporate Sector Controllers, you will be responsible for providing controllership support to the technology function, including accounting for technology in accordance with US GAAP and JPMC standards. Global Technology Controller provide controllership support to technology function in to Hardware, Software, Professional services and other direct expense lines.

What you'll do

• Determine expense versus capitalization treatment, ensure timely disposal recognition, and post close entries with appropriate support and approvals
• Partner with Technology, P&A, Business Management, and Procurement to align on project scope, in-service dates, and cutover timing
• Perform ongoing review of work-in-process ledger balances, including aging analysis, root-cause identification
• Reconcile WIP balances to upstream project and procurement systems and validate against purchase orders, capitalization requests, and approvals
• Capitalize qualifying assets by evaluating projects against thresholds and criteria and determining start/stop capitalization dates, place-in-service dates
