Lead HVDC Control and Protection Application Engineer

The energy transition drives an unprecedented growth in demand for and generation of electricity. High voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems play a key role in connecting remote and offshore renewables and reinforcing AC grids. GE Vernova Grid Systems Integration business line offers control and protection solutions for Line Commutated Converter (LCC) HVDC valve technologies.

What you'll do

• System level requirements and test specifications capture
• Develop, implement, and debug control algorithms for HVDC converter functions (e.g., Power control, converter control
• Design and implement test harness with automatic assessment to validate at unit level and Model In Loop level
• Integrate functional blocks in the converter control units based on pre-defined control requirements and interface specifications
• Participate in code generation workflows using MATLAB Embedded Coder, ensuring compliance with in-house software architecture and coding standards
