Mechanical Engineer – MEP – Substation & HVDC

About the role

Monitor and coordinate the design, installation, testing, commissioning and handover of mechanical, electrical and plumbing interface systems, with primary responsibility for HVAC, ventilation, equipment cooling, fire-protection, plumbing, water-supply, drainage and associated mechanical auxiliary systems for substations and HVDC terminal stations.

What you'll do

• Review MEP design criteria, design basis reports, calculations, layouts, specifications, equipment data sheets and vendor documents
• Review HVAC heat-load calculations, equipment sizing, system zoning, redundancy and system configuration
• Review cooling and ventilation requirements for converter halls, valve halls, GIS halls, control rooms, relay rooms, battery rooms, cable basements
• Review chilled-water, direct-expansion, ventilation, exhaust, pressurization, precision-cooling and smoke-extraction systems
• Review mechanical cooling systems associated with converter valves, transformers, power-electronic equipment and other HVDC equipment

What you need
