Tax Specialist

About the role

We are looking for a Tax Accountant to take ownership of the bridge between our statutory reporting and our management reporting, and to run our direct and indirect tax compliance cycle end to end. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys detail and reconciliation work, but who also wants to understand *why* the numbers differ — and to explain those differences clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders alike.

What you'll do

• Work across multiple legal entities and sit at the point where local statutory requirements meet group reporting policy
• Prepare, review and submit periodic VAT returns across [UK / EU / other] jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and on-time filing
• Own supporting indirect tax filings including EC Sales Lists, Intrastat and any local equivalents
• Maintain and reconcile VAT control accounts, and clear balances on a timely basis
• Ensure ongoing Making Tax Digital compliance and maintain the digital links audit trail
