Video/Streaming Engineer (part-time)

About the role

We are looking for a Video & Streaming Engineer to join a greenfield digital news platform build for a major international news brand. Video is not a feature here — it is the product. The platform is built around an always-on livestream, automated broadcast clip ingestion, and a player architecture that needs to perform reliably under the extreme traffic conditions of breaking-news events.

What you'll do

• Own video, livestream, and player technical implementation across the platform
• Integrate the selected video platform and player with the broader content and delivery architecture
• Implement adaptive bitrate streaming and device-aware playback across web and mobile environments
• Support livestream and breaking-news streaming workflows — including failover and resilience requirements
• Implement clipping and newsroom video-processing capabilities for broadcast clip ingestion and editorial use

What you need

• Performance testing
